Addie Gets Her Black Belt.
Wow, I've been away from the blog world for a while and there is so much to talk about! So much to cover.... Christmas recap, Laci's wedding reception....
But first things first, the most exciting development since we have been away. You know the gentle love taps I wrote about here? Well, Babygirl has grown and is in full fledged kicking mode now! Some have even been so strong that Jason has been able to feel them from the outside! It just never gets old to lay here at night and feel her kicking and punching, I can feel exactly where she is now and can rest my hand there and it is such an incredible bonding experience.
Saturday night, Mom had her hand resting on my belly and all the sudden my belly tightened and her eyes got really big because we realized what we were feeling was her turning over! She could actually feel Addie's shoulder scraping across my belly. It was amazing and made me tear up.
I cannot say enough times that I am loving being pregnant and feel blessed every single day for this experience.
It just keeps getting better and better.

Nursery Tease.
Several people have asked about the nursery and though it is a work in progress, it is definitely coming along! It still has a bit to go so I hate to show you too much as I am a full effect kind of gal. So how's about a sneak peek?
Here is the color pallette we are working with (pink, mint green, white, cream):
First Peek.......
I'm just about dying to show you the rest so don't throw things at me! Once completed, I will be assaulting your eyes with plenty of gratuitous pics.
XOXO,
Mack & Jason

Lunch Bunch.
I have no idea how I forgot to post about our early Christmas lunch with our favorite Cajun family (even if they ARE LSU fans). We met at Goode Company, chowed down on shrimp, fish and oysters rockefeller and caught up since we hadn't seen them since their wedding in October. They were in H-town to visit some of Joey's family and we were so glad they were able to meet up with us for lunch!

I just realized Joey managed to avoid the picture taking, so smooth!! Merry Christmas, guys!

Baby Chuck Norris.
It started Sunday afternoon. I was laying on my back on the couch eating chocolate chip cookies and chocolate milk (don't judge!) and I started feeling this tiny pressing on the right side of my tummy. It was like nothing I had felt before, not gas, not round ligament pain, it was like two fingers tips pressing from the inside.
That's when it clicked, it had to be her.
I knew it wouldn't be too long before I was feeling her, I just didn't realize it could be that soon! I called Jason over to try and describe to him what it felt like. "Hi babygirl!"
Right now as I am drinking OJ and typing I can feel her in the middle and to the right side, just softly, letting me know she is there. AMAZING.
I cannot wait as she grows bigger and I can feel her more definitely (I'm sure I will be regretting saying that when I am 9 months pregnant and she is repelling herself off my ribs).
I also cannot wait for the next person who comes along and irritates me so I can say, "You better watch yourself or my baby will give you a roundhouse kick to the face!"
Boo-yah.

Etsy Studio Love.
This weekend I made full use of my newfound feel-good-ed-ness and we worked our butts off to get my brand new Etsy studio put together and set up. Or should I say, Jason worked his butt off while I supervised and umm err kept the dogs out of his hair?
I am so tickled at how it turned out. I have SPACE! I no longer have to drag projects and fill Etsy orders on the kitchen counter! My shop had been on somewhat of a hold while we were getting all of this together, so I am ready to hit the ground running. Of course I will be happily sharing this space with Addie once she gets here as this will double for a play room. I'm ok with that, though. :)
^This picture sucks but, the dog cage is being moved somewhere, poor dogs are getting the boot! That empty wall on the left is where all of Addie's toys and such will go. I love the big space in the middle of the floor she will have to play.

A Family.
I'd been calling the lab for results every single day since we had the test done last Wednesday for the results. Anxious much? Even though they said it took 7-10 days, I dialed it again yesterday and to my complete shock the results were in and the recording was reading off our results.
It clicked in my head, I am about to find out what our baby is!!! At the end of reading all the results for the genetic testing (which were all good and clear! PHEW) the tone of the voicemail changes and she says, "And congratulations, you are having a.... XXXXXX."
I couldn't believe it. So much so that I called back to listen to it again.
Holy mackeral, she really DID just say that! I resisted every urge I had to call Jas right then and tell him because I knew I wanted to suprise him in person.
I stopped by Walmart on the way home and bought supplies. Ross helped me blow up balloons.
A sweet baby girl.
A daughter. And I know as women we say, "I don't care what it is as long as it is healthy." Which is true.

When Jas came through the door I smiled and told him to go look and see what I got for the nursery. And when he opened the door, he saw this:
That's right folks, WE ARE HAVING A GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A sweet baby girl.
A daughter. And I know as women we say, "I don't care what it is as long as it is healthy." Which is true.
.
But I think it is safe now to admit that though I thought it was a boy, I was secretly hoping for a girl.
.
I think I was afraid to say it out loud for fear it wouldn't come true.
.
We're having a daughter.

Holy mackeral, what a difference 2 weeks can make! :)
Oh so dramatic already with hand over face. I'm sure he/she gets that from Jason, right? ;)

May Baby!
Yesterday was our very first ultrasound and Baby Hensley's first photo shoot! It was the most incredible thing ever!
They pulled us back to the room, warm gel was being squirted on my tummy and within seconds our baby popped up on the screen. OUR BABY.
And immediately after that, we heard the most beautiful sound. The heartbeat. Strong and steady at 177 beats per minute. In the video you can just keep hearing me say "oh my gosh oh my gosh." This is really happening!
I started chuckling a little which must have woken the little feller up and he/she started bouncing around and waving to us with its right hand.
It was completely unforgettable!
Dearest Sweet Pea,
We love you so very much already and are so excited to be your parents! We cannot wait to meet you in May! This is only the beginning. *grins* :)

Fur Love.
After getting their hairs did at the doggy salon:
They are handling the baby news a lot better than expected. Zoe has starting knitting baby booties and Ross has been so kind as to inform us of his babysitting fees so we can start saving up.
