Big Things.

It has only been a few weeks since our last update but some very big things have been going on that I have to share! First of all, Addie cut her two bottom teeth within days of each other and at her 8 month well visit with her doc, he confirmed that her top two teeth are not far behind! She is a teething machine, drooling on everything like a mad woman.

We also started her on finger foods which has been a fun, messy experience! Her favorites so far are cheese chunks, banana slices and whole wheat ritz crackers. The kid would eat crackers constantly if I'd let her!

But the biggest news of all is that on her 8 month birthday, she officially started crawling! She had been up on her hands and knees rocking and scooting for a few weeks and even had the knee movement down but hadn't figured out to move her arms yet. Well on the morning of the 19th it is like something clicked and I looked down and she was crawling right toward me! I screamed and cheered and then when I realized what she had just done, I wanted to laugh and cry all at the same time, we are SO proud of her. At first she was pretty hesitant and looked like a sweet little baby deer trying to get her bearings but each day she is getting faster and more confident and holy smokes it is time to baby proof!

Me: Where did our baby go??
Jasom: Well evidently, she crawled off!

Eeeees Chilly!

It is 29 degrees at our house! I live in Texas for a reason, I don't do cold well. I like a miracle snow once every few years for fun but I don't want to shovel it or scrape it or drive in it by any means. Life doesn't stop for cold weather so I've been bundling Addie up to do our usual errands and I am pretty sure if they made this outfit in my size I would have one:

Gigi would say it is "cold cold (pronounced 'cole cole') winter time." Papaw (may he rest in peace) would say it is "as cold as a witches teet" outside and that my friends is your lesson for the week on where I came from. :)
Stay warm!!! xoxoxo

Ducks Of A Feather.

I am not big on resolutions but if we were to have one, as a family, I think it'd be to get out and experience as much as we can. We live in a beautiful city with plenty to do, a bazillion parks, museums, festivals, restaurants... all waiting to be explored. We started out close to home at the lake in our neighborhood, where Addie got to feed (and talk to!) ducks for the first time.

I am really looking forward to stopping and smelling the roses this year with my sweet little family. :)

Oh Lynyrd, You Speak To Me.

"Oh take your time, don't live too fast.
Troubles will come and they will pass."
.

"And be a simple kind of man. Oh be something, you love and understand."

Happy New Year, all!
