May Baby!

Yesterday was our very first ultrasound and Baby Hensley's first photo shoot! It was the most incredible thing ever!

They pulled us back to the room, warm gel was being squirted on my tummy and within seconds our baby popped up on the screen. OUR BABY.

And immediately after that, we heard the most beautiful sound. The heartbeat. Strong and steady at 177 beats per minute. In the video you can just keep hearing me say "oh my gosh oh my gosh." This is really happening!

I started chuckling a little which must have woken the little feller up and he/she started bouncing around and waving to us with its right hand.

It was completely unforgettable!

Dearest Sweet Pea,

We love you so very much already and are so excited to be your parents! We cannot wait to meet you in May! This is only the beginning. *grins* :)

Fur Love.

After getting their hairs did at the doggy salon:

They are handling the baby news a lot better than expected. Zoe has starting knitting baby booties and Ross has been so kind as to inform us of his babysitting fees so we can start saving up.

Next Stop: The Big Easy.

We are hitting the road first thing in the morning to head to Louisiana to attend a wedding of some lovely friends of ours, Congrats Jess & Joey! We decided to book a room in New Orleans for the entire weekend and make the hour drive to the ceremony and reception in Houma from there.
.
We haven't been back since we made the trip right after we got engaged in 2007. I am excited about seeing the city for the first time completely sober and aware of my surroundings! Should be a good time.

One Year.

One year ago today, I married my very best friend beneath a sun shining just for us and surrounded by those that mean the most. I will never forget that day for as long as I live. And I will never forget the look on his face as he promised to love me forever.

Because of his love I dream bigger, live braver and trust deeper. I try harder, land softer and breathe easier. Because of his love I smile wider, laugh louder and live happier.

If you had asked me several years ago if I thought I'd be living the incredible life I live with this amazing man and a sweet sweet baby on the way to start our family, I'd have laughed in your face because those kinds of dreams don't come true. I'm glad I was wrong.
Happy Anniversary, sweet boy!! This is only the beginning. :)

Some Things Are Priceless.

In November, Jason and I will have been together for 3 years. Over those 3 years, he has done so many thoughtful things for me. There have been romantic dinners, love letters written and little boxes with tiny bows on them filled with shiny things. He opens doors and blesses me when I sneeze and holds my hand in the car.

But he has really outdone himself this time.

After being a smoker for 15 years, he has officially quit! I'll let you take that in for second because it is HUGE! With the help of a very supportive doctor and Chantix, he has gone from 30 cigarettes a day (that's a pack and a half!) down to 4 cigarettes a day, down to 2 cigarettes a day and yesterday down to.... NONE.

I couldn't be happier or more proud of him because he has set his mind to this and as hard as it has been is really doing it.

Thanks for giving Jellybean and I an extra 10-20 years to spend with you!

THAT, you cannot put a price on. :)

Progression.

The guys are moving out of the house and into the office next Tuesday. TUESDAY. Oh sweet sweet joy of all joys.

So this past weekend's mission was a hunt for office furniture. We found a really cool used office furniture warehouse and scored a gorgeous conference room table and a credenza from good old Craigslist. We then headed up to the office to take some measurements and so I could check out all the progress that has been made which of course you know I will be showing you in a delicious before and after series! Did I just use "delicious" to describe pics of an office? I'm losing it, people. Go ahead and point and laugh.

There are obviously still a few things to do. Most of the tiled areas are finished but industrial carpet is being laid this week and then of course all of the crap needs to be cleaned up... but not too bad huh? Our future is in these pictures!
And they say you can't polish a turd. :)

Mack

The BEST Gift.

Wow, what a birthday! Thanks to that sweet post below I am now a weeping mess, Thank you, Jas!!

It seems like we have been celebrating my birthday for a few weeks now but today it is official!

For my birthday Jason took me shopping for all the things needed for my brand new etsy studio. I cannot wait to take pics once it is all set up! This weekend we are celebrating with family and he also got us reservations for Saturday night to celebrate just the two of us.

Last weekend I blew out candles at Mom and Ron's.

Love the 80's sunglasses?? You could say I am feeling pretty loved! What an amazing year it has been. Since my last birthday, I have survived a scary hurricane, married my very best friend and become an aunt (twice!) We have been lucky enough to have travelled all over the place from Dallas to San Antonio to Breckenridge to Florida to Mexico.

And now for our grandest adventure yet and the best birthday present in the whole world....

We are going to be parents!!!!

Lots of love,
Mack (Mommy) & Jason (Daddy)

Happy 29th B-day Mackenzie!!!!!!!

Today, along with every other day of the year, I get to celebrate the birth of my beautiful, loving wife.
Mackenzie, thank you for everything that you do, and for being the awesome person that you are! Some people look at aging another year as another year older. Know that I view it is another day closer to us being able to spend the rest of our lives together; a new chapter in life to live. I hope that your birthday is a fantastic one! I love you with all of my heart, my sweet!
Love,
Jason

Not So Little Anymore.

This weekend we got some exciting news all the way from Provo. Laci (AKA "Little Sis" "Runt") is getting married!!

I'm pretty sure I blew out a couple of people's eardrums in Cracker Barrel with my screams when we heard the news. Laci and Mark, we couldn't be more happy for you! Laci, it seems like yesterday that I carried you around everywhere on my hip and told everyone you were mine. You've been my best friend for almost 21 years now which is a lot because you can kind of be a pain in the butt sometimes.... I kid! I kid!

Mark, you are getting an amazing girl, take good care of her and I can't wait to meet you!

Congratulations to you both!!! We love you!!

XOXO,
Mack & Jason

September Rain.

It has been a rainy, rainy week. The kind you wish you could spend inside wrapped in blankets napping.

This time last year we were running with a trunk full of bottled water and a full tank of gas away from Hurricane Ike.

I'll take a simple rain shower any day. :o)

Aunt Debbie.

My sweet sweet aunt lost her 14 month battle with stage 4 cancer and passed away Sunday morning. Memorial services have been set for Saturday at 11am.

Monday was hard, waking up and coming to work and putting on my smiley face as if nothing had happened. I think the hardest part right now is trying to wrap my head around the fact that family gatherings will never be the same.

But then I look over at my sweet sweet husband who, since this has happened has been holding onto me tightly as if afraid to let go, and I realize that we will have our own little family one day and be starting new traditions and we will bring along everyone with us who was left behind. It might be different and it might be missing someone very important, but we will go on.

Plus we will have the best guardian angel that anyone could ask for. We love you, Aunt Debbie! XOXO

Re-Paint.

So, what, you are saying that because on a weekend where I have no committments and I spend the time re-painting the kitchen whose existing color was only about 2 years old instead of vegging on the couch watching lifetime and napping that I am OLD? WHAT? ME?

Whatever. Haters!
I believe you can make out the stack of mail on the counter with a letter from AARP on top.

Welcome, Amy Ray!

Our niece, Amy Ray, arrived Thursday afternoon weighing in at 6lb 11oz and 19 3/4 inches long! She has a full head of blondish/strawberry hair and the sweetest little face! We got to visit with her at the hospital and it is obvious we are already putty in her hands.

Congratulations, Bell's!

XOXO, Aunt Mack & Uncle Jason
