Our sweet angel princess decided to pull a Robert Downey Jr. last night and wanted to party all.night.long. More coffee, please! I think she learned her lesson as she is suffering from a serious milk hangover this morning....

2 Weeks Old!

Addison is 2 weeks old today and holy cow that went fast! We had her 2nd dr appt today and the dr said she looks great and is continuing to gain weight right on schedule!

Seems like we have been on the go every day and I guess we have! Monday we visited Gigi and Uncle Jerry and of course had to take Addie on her first trip to Bud's BBQ.

Then had Kaci over for fajitas, she brought cobbler and I had my first post delivery glass of champagne! Jason's dad came back for another visit and we've gone to CVS for diapers and Subway for sandwiches and Panera for breakfast and Addison is definitely getting very used to her carseat which is great as her mom likes to be on the go!

She is doing great and I have no idea what we did to deserve such a sweet, content baby! She is sleeping 3-4 hour stretches at night which is amazing at her age. Breastfed babies are usually up every 2 hours! She is only fussy when she is hungry or needs a diaper change and spends most of her awake time completely content hanging out doing whatever we are doing or sitting in her swing and staring at all the new interesting things around her. :)

Yesterday we had the photographers out for her newborn photo shoot and I am D.Y.I.N.G. for them to send us teasers! It was so nice to just sit back with Jason while they did their thing and admire our sweet little daughter and how beautiful and amazing she really is. I've noticed sometimes I get caught up in breastfeeding and pumping and changing diapers and whatever-needs-to-be-done-next that I need to just stop and enjoy every second of this because it will go by so very fast! The laundry can wait, the dishes can wait, returning phone calls can wait and YES, even blogging can wait so I can just be with her and listen to her soft breathing when she sleeps and bless her tiny sneezes and tickle her monkey toes.

It's no wonder that sometimes, when we are out for walks, our daughter gets confused for a laid back drunken frat boy.....

Motherhood Is The Best Kind Of Tired!

The appointment went great and I absolutely LOVE our pediatrician. He is so laid back and patient and really put Addie at ease. Just as we suspected, he said she is absolutely perfect and has already gained 4 ounces since we have been home from the hospital!

We came home and had a great visit with Kati and Brady and then put Addie in her stroller and hit the street for her very first walk around the neighborhood. She loved it!

As for us, we are good! We have a night system down, sharing the duties: I feed, Jason burps and puts her back down to sleep.

So, we are are a bit sleep deprived, but enjoying every minute with her!

She is more amazing than we ever thought possible. :)

And Then All The Sudden It Is Time.

The maids came today and scrubbed our house from top to bottom with all of the baby safe cleaners we bought. *smile* I am sitting on the couch in my stretchy pants, hand on tummy, enjoying babygirl's squirms while I can.

2 more sleeps!

This will probably be my last blog before she arrives. Tomorrow we have our last doctor's appointment and are tying up as many loose ends as we can. Mom comes into town tomorrow night. We are to check in at the hospital at 5:30am Wednesday, which means we have to leave our house by 4:30am which means it will probably be very hard to get sleep the night before!

It's finally here. I am still in denial and can't grasp that the sweet little alien who has been banging around in my belly for 9 months is going to finally be on the outside.

I had my first labor/delivery dream the other night. She came and she had a poof of light brown hair and big brownish greenish eyes and looked just like her Daddy. She was perfect.

She has no idea how excited we are to meet her, to get to know her. To be her Mom and Dad.

We are entering brand new territory here.

I'll be back. A mother. :)

In just 15 days, we will be holding our sweet baby girl and finally meeting her face to face after dreaming about her for so long!

2 more weeks of just Mack and Jas, a couple.

After the 19th,

Two things your Daddy is guilty of: 1. Being completely romantic and thoughtful. 2. Not being able to keep a secret!

Thus, I was given my Mother's Day present early. He gets so excited about things he can't wait to give them to me and I am pretty sure he will be the same way with you! I will have to tie his hands behind his back so that he won't give you your birthday and Christmas presents early. :)

The emerald is your birthstone and the sweet squishy face on the right is you at our last ultra sound. I can't wait until you are here and I can replace it with your newborn photo to hold close to my heart always.

I Love Nap Time.

Chunker Cheeks & Big Texas Hair.

As the ultrasound began and the tech started to measure her head, I noticed something floating in the fluid above babygirl's head. Surely that can't be hair, I thought, as I didn't think you could see hair in an ultrasound. Just as I was completing my though, the tech said,

"Have you been having a lot of heartburn?"

"No not really, why?"

"Because this little girl has a FULL head of hair!"

What we had seen floating around was indeed hair! She even measured it and it was 2 centimeters long (about 7/8")....just flowing in the fluid. Jason and I were TICKLED! Hair! Our baby has hair! Upon further inspection we got a peek at her chunker cheeks, pouty lips and button nose.

She measured the belly, kidneys, liver, etc and everything is developed and perfect! She even measure the femur and informed us she has looooong legs which wasn't too surprising, considering she comes by it honestly from her tall parents!

The final verdict after all her measurements: she is already weighing in at 5lbs 15oz! Holy mackeral!

Since everything looks great, the doc has decided to go ahead and induce at 39 weeks. 4 more weeks! We cannot wait to meet our sweet, chunkered cheek little angel. :) One last photo before she makes her grand appearance... with her arm/hand over face as usual!


And I don't care what anyone says, the dogs KNOW. After getting home from my appt, this is how my afternoon has been spent:

I Heart Mud Bugs.

This weekend's family reunion/crawfish boil was an absolute blast but I sure am pooped! Eating copious amounts of crawfish, relaxing by a bonfire and laughing with family is so exhausting, you know. :)

As you can see, fun was had by all! Poppie (Jason's stepdad and Master crawfish boiler) was sure I was about to pop at any moment and joked he had and extra pot of water boiling "just in case."

Haha, because THAT wouldn't be scary or anything!

We have our final ultrasound in the morning and hopefully they can give us an idea of how big baby girl is and if she is good and ready to come out and meet us!

Broken Record.

I feel like a broken record these days, starting each entry with "life has been so busy." But it HAS. This past weekend was spent visiting Jason's family. We got to spend time with his grandma which was so nice and then had burgers with Aunt Patty, Uncle Ricky, Ryan and Amanda, Katie and Leslie. We then headed out to some really gorgeous areas around their home so I could take Katie's Senior pictures and some of Leslie as well as some of them together. It was a very fun, photography is so much easier when you have beautiful models, though! ;)

I want to post a few pics but then have to run... Jason's family reunion/crawfish boil starts tomorrow and I need to get laundry done, bags packed and make a strawberry cheesecake trifle to bring for dessert. :) Oh and rest in there at some point!

Babymoon! Down By The Sea.... errr the Gulf!

*Looks up at pregnancy ticker* 33 weeks! In a little over a month our lives are going to be turned upside down and changed forever (in a very good way!). We decided to take a long weekend trip to Galveston to have a nice relaxing, romantic weekend before all the craziness.

Jason found an adorable condo to rent right on the water and we spent the weekend fishing, walking on the beach, laying by the pool and stuffing ourselves with seafood. It was a perfect weekend, wish our toes were still in the sand!

MiaBella has done it again! This amazing couple shot our engagement pics, bridal pics, wedding pics and now our maternity/belly pictures! Kelly and Marianne are ridiculously talented and after seeing our teasers, we cannot wait until Addison is here and they do her newborn pictures as well. :)

It was so hard to pick one for our header but the one I used is definitely one of my favorites! It's the picture that makes me tear up and realize, we are really having a baby!
